Working in partnership with the University of Strathclyde, Queen Margaret University, and our core supporters at Craig Corporate Ltd, Turcan Connell and Close Brothers, we have developed an innovative and informative series of educational events for 2016.
This event is Family & Business Strategy - Governance and Succession. It seeks to provide an insight into how successful family firms understand how to benefit from the right resources to fulfil their plans. Core learning will be provided with insights from Dr Claire Seaman from Queen Margaret University, Dr James Gordon, Alastiar Macphie and Sofia di Belmonte.
After attending this event, participants will have learned:
How business strategy and family strategy fit together - is family succession wanted and by whom?
Approaces to educating the next generation into the business
Different governance systems and how they impact the future of the business and the family.
Our presenters/speakers:
Dr Claire Seaman, Reader in Enterprise and Family Business at Queen Margaret University will chair proceedings and will be joined by:
Alastair Macphie, Chairman of Macphie, who from their home on the glorious Glenbervie Estate in the north east of Scotland, and a second manufacturing site at Tannochside near Glasgow, create a wide variety of high quality, baking and culinary ingredients – all designed to deliver delicious results,
Dr James Cunningham lectures in management at Aberdeen Business School, researching the role of leadership in fostering knowledge sharing in Scottish small family firms.
Sofia di Belmonte, Managing Director of award winning Punta Licosa Ltd, her Italian family’s diversified hospitality and agricultural produce business.
Tickets are ONLY available to family business owners, next generation family members, non-family senior managers and directors within family firms. Please note that this course is NOT available to professional advisers.
